A family day in Ilha de Faro

A quick escape to Algarve to relax and enjoy the southern latitudes! We took a day walk to explore the rocky coastline between Albandeira and Benagil, searching for fossils and empty beaches.

Another day we visit Ilha de Faro, a beautiful island of clear waters and soft sand that stretches for kilometers with the Atlantic ocean on one side and the Ria Formosa lagoon on the other. The access to the island is through a narrow bridge. We walked all the way to the end of the sand bank, to a part called Barrinha. The place has a very unique vibe and during low tide it’s a great spot to look for clams, mussels and other shell fish.
